Salary Range: $75K-$90K

Job Summary:

The HR Manager will be responsible for providing human resources leadership to the company in the following functional areas: recruiting, benefits, compensation, policy & procedure, employee relations & human resources administration (HRIS). This position acts as a strategic business partner to ensure the company meets its short-term and long-term business objectives.

The HR Manager must have a strong ability to build cohesive working relationships, be an excellent communicator and have a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency. In addition, this role requires someone who is flexible as the organization continues to grow and evolve.


Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the HR Business Partner for the Company in all aspects of HR management (recruitment, benefits, compensation, training & development, policy & procedure, employee relations, HRIS)
  • Manages the Company’s recruitment program to include maintaining the Company’s open position/ recruitment tracker, generating position requisition forms, posting positions, screening and scheduling potential candidates, generating offer letter
  • Leads and manages the onboarding process of new team members collaborating with Finance/ IT, adding new hires to the HRIS system, etc.
  • Manages the Company’s benefit programs; provides benefits administration support including open enrollment, change reporting and claims resolution when needed
  • Manages the annual performance appraisal process and compensation program to ensure consistency and fairness across the Company; maintains the employee recognition program
  • Provides HR support and counsel on a myriad of employee issues; partners with managers and employees on conflict resolution, performance management, etc.; is an active participant in all employee relations issues, up to and including the termination of team members
  • Manages the Company’s HRIS; monitor and report on employee data metrics (headcount, turnover, etc.) and provide updates to ELT.
  • Handles management and employees inquiries of the company’s HR policies and procedures.
  • Drives and partners with the organization on culture, engagement and positive work environment strategies and initiatives; manages and organizes learning and professional development initiatives
  • Stays current on HR compliance and ensures policies and procedures are maintained and comply with federal and state labor laws and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of human resources experience in roles of increasing scope and responsibily.
  • Hands-on experience with Human Resources Management Software (including payroll systems, HR Information Systems)
  • Solid understanding of federal and state labor law
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral and interpersonal)
  • Ability to foster healthy employee relations, diving into conflict as needed to drive results and solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS degree in business or HR related field
  • MS degree in HR or relevant certification
  • Startup/high growth company experience
  • Must be available to work on site at the Company’s New Haven, CT headquarters
